What To Do After A Car Accident

Getting in a car accident is a stressful and often times scary event. There is a lot to think about immediately after an accident, and it's easy to get overwhelmed or flustered and forget some important things. You might also ask yourself; what do I do now? What information do I need? What do I need to tell my insurance company? Hopefully you never get into an accident, but if you do, here are some helpful tips to make sure you and your vehicle are taken care of.

Things to remember:

  • Stop your vehicle immediately and write down the license plate number of the other vehicle involved.
  • Show your driver's license and registration to the other driver and any police officer.
  • If anyone is seriously injured, call 911 or the local authorities immediately.
  • Write down a complete description of the accident as soon as possible. This will help keep the details of the accident fresh in your mind.
  • Notify your insurance company, even if the claim appears small and there are no apparent injuries. Settling the claim yourself is risky.
  • You are the person who is responsible for having your car repaired to your satisfaction. Choosing a quality repair shop is important and you should not be rushed into a decision.
  • Make sure every detail has been attended to and repaired to your satisfaction before signing any insurance company release.
  • Make sure you read and understand all papers before you sign them.

After the accident, one of your next steps will be to have the damage on your vehicle repaired. Making sure that your repairs are done correctly, safely and professionally is extremely important. Your Collision Center team at Larry H. Miller Chevrolet in Murray can help guide you through this process, and ensure you a worry free experience. Choosing a dealership Collision Center will give you peace of mind knowing that the work has been done correctly by OEM Certified Technicians who are trained to work on any make and model.

Holiday Road Trip Tips

With the holidays rapidly approaching, many families will be loading up the car, filling up the tank and embarking on a journey on the open road to visit family and friends.  If you’re planning on doing something similar, one of the last things you want to encounter while traveling is car trouble of any kind. Luckily, there are some things you can do to help prevent problems that could put a damper on your holiday spirit. Whether you’re driving just a few hours or a few days, here are a few road trip tips that everyone should check off before making the trek.

·      Check your tires- Remember, your tires are the only parts of the vehicle that touch the ground. Make sure that you check the tread on your tires to ensure that they’ll stand up to any wet or cold weather that you might pass through. Also, be sure to check the inflation levels on your tires, including your spare. Overinflated or underinflated tires can wear more quickly and unevenly, and can also adversely affect your gas mileage.
·      Get your oil changed- One of the best ways to prevent engine trouble is to change your oil regularly. If you’re headed on a road trip where you’ll be racking up some miles, be sure to bring your car into us and let us help.
·      Top off your fluids- Just like changing your vehicle’s oil, making sure your other fluids such as power steering, wiper fluid, coolant, etc. are adequate is important. Again, all this can be done right here at your dealership.
·      Load up on snacks- It’s not all about the car, right? Make sure you fill your glove box with your favorite treats to keep your stomach full, your mind alert and the kids happy.
·      Bring a basic repair/tool kit- You never know what you might encounter out on the road. Being prepared with a basic kit of tools and repair essentials will come in handy just in case something does go wrong. Items like a tire iron, chains, a flashlight, first aid kit, gloves, etc. are important. For more suggestions and help with your kit, just ask us and we would be happy to help.

Wherever you’re going this holiday season, be sure to drive safely and have fun. If you have any questions regarding your vehicle and ways to prepare it for an upcoming road trip, come in to Larry H. Miller Chevrolet in Murray where our team is ready to assist you and give you the peace of mind you want before your trip. www.larryhmillerchevrolet.com

Chevy Small Business Tax Credits

Did you know that your business could receive tax credits from purchasing a vehicle from Chevrolet? Now if you purchase a vehicle before December 31, 2013, your business could earn a tax deduction of up to $500,000 on select models. Your team at Larry H. Miller Chevrolet in Murray can help you learn more and take advantage.

The GM Business Choice Program is an incentive program designed to help business owners who use their vehicles for work-related purposes. Whether you’re buying or leasing, Business Choice can help you get the most out of your money and work vehicle.

  • Are you a business owner?
  • Is the vehicle you desire going to be used in the day-to-day operation of your business and not solely for transportation purposes?

If you answered “yes” to both of these questions, you are likely qualified for the Business Choice Program and the business tax credits. For more information about the program and current offers and incentives, click here and contact your tax preparer.

Small-business owners can use a break wherever they can get it. And when you can save money, that’s more that you can then invest in your employees, equipment, product, and business. Come see your team at LHM Chevrolet in Murray, Utah to find out more about these programs and how you can benefit from them. Although we are vehicle experts, we do recommend that you contact your tax professional if considering this program. www.lhmchevy.com

LHM Chevrolet Murray Joins The Fight

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Chevy, along with Larry H. Miller Chevrolet Murray, are joining the fight against breast cancer by partnering with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer organization.

Throughout the month, our employees are participating in a number of activities to help raise both awareness and financial support for the ongoing fight against breast cancer. On October 12th, a team of LHM Chevy employees will be participating in a walk to benefit the cause. Additionally, each employee who donates their own money to the cause will have the opportunity to participate in Jersey Friday and wear their favorite team’s jersey and gear. Finally, we also have two raffle boxes set up collecting raffle tickets. Each ticket costs one dollar, and enters you in to win an autographed Utah Jazz basketball, or a pair of lower bowl tickets to watch the Jazz take on the Lakers. All proceeds from the raffle tickets go to Making Strides Against Brest Cancer.

This is an initiative that we take very seriously and are proud to support as a Utah car dealership comprised of many female employees, including our General Manager. If you’d like to donate to the team, or even join our walk, click here for more information.
