The Redesign That Put Camaro back On the Map

Chevrolet Camaro has been one of the most iconic muscle-cars on the road since its debut in 1966, and over the next 35 years, the Camaro remained as one of the most-wanted cars in America. However, its fourth generation model stopped production due to slowing sales, a deteriorating market and plant overcapacity.

Chevrolet was left with a dilemma, and ultimately decided to table a Camaro redesign until 2010, when the 2010 model received a modern and upgraded redesign. The new look, combined with the almost 10-year hiatus, lit a fire in consumers and critics alike. The fifth-generation Camaro went on to win an unprecedented amount of awards, including World Car Design of the Year at the World Car of the Year Awards. This could only mean one thing…

The Camaro was back, and we mean REALLY back.

The fifth-generation Camaro saw its final model year in 2015, as Chevrolet announced the all-new 2016 model would be redesigned as the sixth generation. While the all-new generation of Camaro is sure to be impressive, the prior version became iconic all on its own by bringing an American muscle-car back to front-pages all over the world.

The 2010 Camaro was impressive enough to win the hearts of every car-enthusiast, but the 2015 model was the Camaro, perfected. The proof is in the features. A standard 2015 Camaro boasts a direct injection V6 engine with 323 horsepower and 30 MPG.

Inside, you’ll find RECARO Performance bucket seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, Bluetooth wireless technology, Siri Eyes Free and a Color Driver Information Center that relays necessary information for optimal performance.
