How to Make a Fresh Christmas Wreath This Holiday Season

With the holidays quickly approaching, many of us busy ourselves with different types of projects to deck the halls. Here’s an easy craft that will give a rustic and traditional feel to your holiday décor.

A Christmas wreath is something easy for anyone to make in less than an hour. Involve the whole family and you will have a piece that will be full of wonderful memories.

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:
-       Evergreen branches in varying colors and textures. By using a variety, you will give your wreath a unique aesthetic with captivating visual dimensions. You can get these by simply taking a walk outside! Clip them off of trees in your yard, or take to the mountains to find the perfect Christmas gift from Mother Nature. Try to get them 18” to 24” in length.

-       An 18-inch wire wreath frame. You can purchase these at any craft store or floral shop. You can even go a bit smaller or larger depending on your holiday vision.

-       Natural jute twine. Again, this can be picked up at any local craft store.

-       Branches of berries or pines cones for additional details.

Once you have everything, you are ready to start assembling your wreath.

STEP 1:
Take one of your conifer branches and start to weave it through the 18-inch frame. You will want to weave it for about 6”-8” to ensure that it is securely held in the frame.

Continue this process with other branches all the way around the frame. Be sure to tuck the ends of your branches behind the foliage of the preceding branch for a seamless look throughout.

Layer your different types of evergreen as you go around. It will take 6-8 branches to complete the circle.

STEP 2:
Take your berries and some more foliage and create little bundles using the jute twine. We suggest using blue spruce branches to give more depth and add a pleasant balance of color. Then, simply tie the bundles to the frame. Add as many as desired to make your wreath truly unique.

Take the jute, tie a loop from the frame, and hang your beautiful creation wherever you would like. You might even set it on the grille of your Chevy to make it more festive for the season. Ski Solitude Mountain Resort with Chevy

If there has ever been an ultimate time to shop Chevy, now would be it! Fall is in full swing, but when you live in Utah you know that can be short-lived. Here are Larry H. Miller Chevrolet in Murray we think it’s better to be prepared for winter than to be surprised by it.

If you are thinking that it is about time to get a new vehicle to handle the snow, we couldn’t agree more. The specials are great, and the 2017 models are top-of-the-line. But when you purchase one of these fancy new vehicles you will also get two free passes to ski at Solitude Mountain Resort.

Whether you’re a novice ski bunny or an Olympic pro, Solitude has just about everything you need to make winter a season to look forward to. With a tagline like “Winter, done right,” there are some pretty lofty expectations set.

Here’s what you can do, where you can stay, and even what you can eat while on the slopes at Solitude:

WHAT TO DO?
Aside from the obvious, there is still lots to do to get your winter on. For skiers, Solitude offers 77 runs varying in difficulty. With everything from beginner to double black diamonds runs, there is no skill level that won’t be tested here. For the more faint-of-heart, there is also snowshoeing offered through the Nordic Center with well over ten kilometers of trails you can explore. No need to fear about getting lost; the trails are very well-marked.

WHERE TO STAY?
With as many accommodation options as there are ski runs, it can be awfully tempting to take advantage of the pass you get with your new Chevy and make a weekend getaway out of it. Take advantage of their great packages, like the spa package. What could be better than a morning on the slopes and an afternoon being pampered? Nothing, that’s what.

WHERE TO EAT?
Eating is of great importance, especially after a long day hitting the slopes. If there is one thing that can ruin even the most perfect day at Solitude, it’s a hangry ski buddy. Solitude offers a variety of rich dining options, all based on the philosophy that eating meals made from scratch with fresh ingredients is just better for you. But if you are looking for a memorable dining experience, make your way along the lantern-lit path through the snowy winter woods to The Yurt. Here you will be treated to a four-course meal in a beautiful Mongolian Yurt. Truly magical.

Can you believe all this is possible up Cottonwood Canyon? And so much more could be yours when you come in and purchase a new 2017 Chevy model. We took one of our Traverse models up to just see how it would look, and we are convinced that there is nothing better than a Chevy with a pair of skis strapped to the top of it. We think those should be your skis on your new Chevy. Think about it.
