Pioneer Day is around the corner! Do you have anything fun planned
for this Utah-only holiday? If not, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered! Here
are a few of our favorite things to do to celebrate during this time of year.
Day of ’47 Parade
This parade is one of Utah’s biggest parades and is one of
the oldest in the US. It is celebrated on July 24th in Salt Lake
City. Colorful floats, horses, bands, and more will fill the streets on Pioneer
Day morning and will start at South Temple and State Street and will end at
Liberty park. Click here for a
map and more details.
Salt Lake Bees Game
Kick off your Pioneer Day at a baseball game. One of the
best ways to spend a holiday is a day at the ballpark. Enjoy hotdogs, burgers,
and drinks while cheering on your favorite team. The Bees will take on the
Memphis Redbirds, and after the game there will be fireworks!
Family and Friends BBQ Potluck
A fun family tradition is just kicking back and having a
family BBQ at your house. Invite your friends and family over and start
grilling. Make it a potluck style event and have everyone contribute at least
one food dish. Plan some games and end the night with store-bought fireworks.
This is a great way to get the family together and to enjoy the night.
Day at the Lake
The good thing about Utah is that there are many lakes you
can enjoy. Plan a family fun day trip to the lake, pack some food, rent some
jet skis, bring some water toys, and enjoy the water. A day at the lake is a
great time, and being in the water during 100-degree weather is the perfect
place to be.
